DPOaaS

(Data Protection Officer as a Service)

What is the DPOaaS?

Our Data Protection Officer as a Service (DPOaaS) gives you a named, independent DPO to meet your legal obligations under the GDPR and UK GDPR. We monitor your compliance, keep policies and documentation up to date, advise on risks, and act as your contact for the ICO and data subjects, without the cost of employing a full-time DPO.

We provide ongoing support every month, whether or not you have an urgent issue.

Why is it important?

A DPO must act independently and without conflict of interest. Many in-house roles cannot meet this standard if they are also involved in operational decision-making. DPS guarantees impartial oversight, ensuring you meet the legal independence requirement and maintain the trust of regulators and stakeholders.

What is included in this service?

We take care of all DPO responsibilities, including:

  1. · Acting as your official, named DPO on ICO registration

  2. · Monitoring compliance and reporting directly to leadership

  3. · Reviewing and updating data protection policies and procedures

  4. · Supporting DPIAs and Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs)

  5. · Maintaining and updating your Records of Processing Activities (ROPA)

  6. · Reviewing data processing agreements and third-party arrangements

  7. · Advising on international data transfers and cross-border compliance

  8. · Providing guidance on risks and responding to queries

  9. · Delivering staff training and awareness sessions

  10. · Supporting with data breaches, FOI requests and complex information sharing

  11. · Keeping you aligned with changes in law, regulation and best practice

  • · Expert, accredited advisers who specialise in GDPR and UK GDPR

  • · Proactive monitoring so you stay compliant year-round

  • · Clear, practical guidance that is easy to implement

“As Information Governance Lead at Barts Charity, we have been working over the past year with DPS on a project to implement an Information Governance Framework. This involved undertaking a gap analysis, implementing a new RoPA as well as drafting new policies and procedures. In addition to this, Yagmur has been supporting BAU requirements as part of our DPO-as-as service contract with Data Privacy Simplified.

On the DPO-as-as service side more recently, her ability to quickly digest a requirement, add value to the task at hand and respond in a timely manner has not only given reassurance to the charity colleagues making the requests, but has also established her as a trusted partner at the charity.”
